Michaël Brun Launches BAYO Sessions Series

Vol. 1 Featuring Steves J. Bryan Out Now

Ahead of BAYO 10 Year Anniversary in Boston & Brooklyn in June

May 4, 2026 — In celebration of Haitian Heritage Month, producer, DJ and cultural ambassador Michaël Brun introduces BAYO Sessions, a new freestyle performance series spotlighting artists from across Haiti and the diaspora. The first installment, Vol. 1 featuring Steves J. Bryan, is out now, continuing Brun’s ongoing commitment to amplifying Haitian voices on a global stage.

Conceived as both a creative platform and an extension of the BAYO universe, the series celebrates the sounds, culture, and artistry of the Caribbean diaspora. Filmed in a custom booth inspired by Haiti’s colorful lotto stands, it reimagines those everyday spaces as a live performance setting. The first three sessions highlight different corners of Haiti’s musical landscape, featuring Steves J. Bryan’s Rap Kreyol stylings, J Perry’s Konpa influence, and Andybeatz’s take on Bouyon and Raboday.

Vol. 1 centers on Steves J. Bryan, a Haitian hip-hop artist who opens BAYO Sessions with his Rap Kreyol style. Rooted in Haitian Creole and deeply tied to lived experience, the subgenre carries the voice and cultural identity of Haiti, reflecting Brun’s broader mission to share the stories and perspectives shaping Caribbean communities around the world.

The launch of BAYO Sessions arrives during Haitian Heritage Month, building momentum toward this year’s BAYO 10 year anniversary shows in Boston and Brooklyn in June, where Brooklyn will expand into a three-night edition for the first time. First founded by Brun in 2016 as a Haitian block party centered on showcasing Caribbean excellence, BAYO has since evolved into a multi-city platform built on the idea of “giving,” the meaning of its name in Haitian Creole. Brun has booked more than 120 artists across BAYO’s events, spotlighting talent from the Afro-Caribbean diaspora and beyond, including Wyclef Jean, Anthony Ramos, Shirazze, Oxlade, and Kah-Lo. With more than 20 events and 50,000 tickets sold across the US, BAYO has grown from a block party into a cultural platform rooted in Haitian pride and cross cultural connection.
